- The next round of WoW Classic content is coming later this year

The World of Warcraft Classic has been out for over a month, but all content is not yet available. As Blizzard has previously announced, various parts of the experience will be released at regular intervals, and the next pool is apparently not that far away.

In an interview with PC Gamer, World of Warcraft chief Ion Hazzikostas told that phase two is scheduled to roll out by the end of 2019. This introduces World Bosses Kazzak and Azuregos, the Dire Maul group area, as well as the Honor system for player-against-player -Matches. Note that battlegrounds and organized PvP do not come until the third phase.

For those (read: undersigned) who are still buzzing around Stranglethorn Vale with a level 34 figure, it may seem very soon. However, the reality is that many have already plowed through Molten Core, Onyxia and everything else the first phase had to offer, so something new will probably come in handy.
Closes out "layering"

Before phase two, though, the developer team may be working to keep a promise it gave players long before the Classic launch. Via the game's official forum, Blizzard confirmed this week that the controversial "layering" feature is finally out.

Layering has allowed the Classic servers to operate with far more players than the world really can with, by placing players in different dimensions. While the feature should make the experience better, many have taken advantage of it to secure unintended benefits.

As the developer says, some European servers already operate with only one dimension - or layer - and the others are all down to just two. Over the coming days, the server list will be changed so that everyone can see which servers are operating with multiple dimensions and which ones have completely removed the feature.

According to Blizzard, the process is likely to require some players to switch servers to cut down on overcrowding and long queues. The team will facilitate this and provide more information as things happen.
